Hi Friend,
This week was more exciting than the last few, as we had a real life licensed electrician on site to run the wire from the future electric pole location up to the house. He also installed the electrical panel. Yay! We're continuing the rough electrical inside, too.
And then we had some carpenters show up for 1 1/2 days to start some interior window trim. I know that finishes aren't the most important part of a building, but they sure are most exciting to me. :)

You can see here in the photo below where I decided to stop priming the ceiling beams. Turns out that the v-grooves on the ceiling between the beams was just too annoying to paint with a brush or a roller. So I'll either paint it with a sprayer or pay someone else to paint it!

I was hoping the carpenters hadn't installed these cabinets where you see them here, but yep, they had. So they'll be reinstalling them so that the sink cabinet is centered on the middle window. There will be a little gap between the cabinets on the left, but we'll just fill it and stain it to match.
We're still awaiting the 12" cabinet that goes to the right of the stove. And then we'll have to build the corner cabinets that will flank the bench under the big windows. The vent hood will need to be moved over, too - ugh, the price you pay when you forget to give the carpenters drawings!
Just a note on the appliances - I bought all of them off Facebook Marketplace. Most of them we picked up on our many-hours-long Connecticut tour in a U-Haul van. But I had Jordan pick up the dishwasher while she was driving through New Jersey on her way home from college, and amazingly, she was able to pack it into her car all by herself! Makes her mama proud. :)

Until next time,
xo
