Hi Friend,

Well, we finally have enough progress for another update!

Our painters covered up the bright green primer on the exterior and applied the trim color, which is a bit darker than the wall color. Doesn’t it look sooo much better??

Next, the rough electrical is almost done. Last night was the town hearing to consider our utility company’s proposed new telephone poles needed to get power to the house. We were approved, so we’re feeling empowered. :) With the days getting shorter, we’ll need those interior lights soon!

Third, Judah and his mentor, David, have been busy hanging drywall for the dropped ceilings in the mud room and bathrooms. They’ve also put drywall in the closets. Initially, I was thinking every single wall would be wood, but not only have we run out of the sheathing that came with the kit, but it will be good to have a little extra soundproofing in the bedrooms and bathrooms by using some drywall.

Fourth, the painters primed all the walls, ceilings, and doors in the house. Woo-hoo! The bare wood was very warm and cozy, but I love having a clean backdrop. And now I can add in some weathered wood furniture without it feeling like there’s too much wood. I'll add a topcoat at some point, but for now, I"m enjoying the pure white.

And lastly, the plumbers installed the bathtub upstairs and the behemoth of a shower floor downstairs and hooked up those drains. Yay! I feel that we’ve turned a corner and now the finish line is in sight. Your prayers for continued progress are appreciated! :)

P.S. How do you feel about our painting all that wood? What would you have done?
