Dear Friend,
We're getting ready to break ground on our next Modern Shaker home here in the Berkshires, and Mickey and I are pretty excited about it! We've been busy getting everything lined up for our Spring 2027 building season, and we're looking forward to helping more people build homes of their own.
But first, we have a favor to ask.
Do you know someone who's thinking about building a home?
Maybe they've already bought land and are trying to figure out what to build. Maybe they're looking for a smaller, simpler home, or thinking about adding an ADU for aging parents or grown children. We'd love to meet them!
One of the things we've learned over the years is that some of the best connections come through friends. So we've decided to launch a referral program for Modern Shaker Homes.
If you introduce us to someone who goes on to purchase one of our kit homes, we'll thank you with a referral reward of $1,000 to $4,000, depending on the package they choose.
And you don't need to be a realtor, builder, or anyone in the housing industry. Our kit home packages can be shipped across the country, so we're hoping to reach people well beyond our own backyard.
We'd especially love to connect with people who enjoy bringing good ideas and good people together. And even if you don't know someone who's planning to build, perhaps you know someone who does!
We made a little video out at our Egremont property to tell you more.
If someone comes to mind, simply send an email to mickey@modernshaker.com, and Mickey will send you a little blurb you can send to your friend, along with more details on the program.
And if you're thinking about building yourself, we'd love to talk with you, too!
We're grateful for everyone who's been following along as Modern Shaker Homes grows. It's been quite an adventure already, and we're looking forward to what comes next.
Thank you for helping us spread the word!
Until next time,
xo Elisa
In Case You Missed It...

What's in a Modern Shaker Home Kit?
Wondering exactly what comes with one of our packages? I walk through what's included, how our building system works, and what you'll need to complete your home.
What Makes Modern Shaker Different?
There are lots of ways to build a house. In this video, I explain why we chose our particular approach, and what makes our homes different from conventional construction and other kit homes.
Thinking About Building in Spring 2027?
We're opening a limited number of reservations for next spring's building season. If you already have land—or are close to purchasing it—this is a great time to start planning.
