Every Modern Shaker custom home includes site-specific design—not just a set of standard plans with the address changed.

We'll look at your site and work with you to determine the best orientation, room arrangement, windows, doors, porches, and other major elements for the land.

We'll adapt one of our existing home designs to your needs, or combine elements from our designs to create something that fits your family and your site.

Your custom design includes an initial design package and a defined number of revision rounds so we can get the important things right without turning a Modern Shaker home into an open-ended architectural project.

What costs extra?

Some projects go beyond adapting a Modern Shaker design.

If you need a completely new architectural design, major structural changes, extensive custom detailing, additional rounds of revisions, or design work outside our standard home system, we'll scope that separately before we begin.

For complicated sites, we may also work alongside your local architect, engineer, surveyor, or other professionals when their expertise or a local license is required.

Our goal is simple: give you as much thoughtful design as possible within the Modern Shaker system, and only charge extra when your project truly requires something beyond it.
