Hello dear friend,
This week has been a bit wilder for me with two of my girls gone, so I'll keep it short.
We had several visitors this week!
Monday morning, the septic installers arrived to use their huge excavators to tear out some brush where the leach field will go. Unfortunately, the driest spot for the wastewater to percolate into the soil is at a higher elevation than the house. This means that we couldn't get a standard gravity-fed septic system; instead, it will be pumped uphill from the septic tank to the leach field. It is what it is. We've gotten many dump truck deliveries of sand - some as early as 6:15am!

Also, our windows arrived, so that's exciting. They're just about ready to start installing them! It'll be so nice not to get as much water in the house when it rains (not that it hurts anything - it just has to be swept out the doors).

On Wednesday, we got a special visit from our Lifeonaire friends in Atlanta who are on a big roadtrip. And then we were all spoiled with a beautiful 3-course dinner from our local friends.

The guys are finishing up the insulation project today. We should be getting an insulation inspection soon by the HERS rater and the town building inspector. Most houses would've needed a framing inspection by now, but since the house is designed so that its structure remains exposed, the building inspector can wait until all the fire caulking is done so that he can do the framing and fire caulking inspections at the same time.

Can't wait for those girls to get back from camp! :)
Until next time,
xo

P.S. Do you have any questions you'd like me to answer about the project or anything else? Anything you'd like me to share or show more of?
